The first full week of summer is nearing its conclusion, and the sensation of summer has been prevalent throughout the week. Unfortunately, most of us will have to wait until early next week for the return of rain.
Happy Friday, ladies and gentlemen. We are commencing the day with temperatures in the mid to upper 70s once again under a mostly clear sky. Today's forecast includes partly cloudy, warm, and humid conditions with afternoon highs reaching the low to mid-90s. The heat index value is expected to reach the upper 90s. Additionally, there is a slight chance of storms mainly north and northwest of DFW late this afternoon through this evening. However, most areas will remain dry.
It is essential to stay cool and hydrated this weekend, as plenty of sunshine is anticipated throughout North Texas, with temperatures returning to the mid-90s. Heat index values will approach 100 degrees.
Our next rain chance is expected to arrive during the afternoon and evening hours on Monday and Tuesday. As of now, the heaviest rain appears to be north of the Dallas Fort Worth area along a stalling cold front. If the front shifts farther south, more areas in North Texas can expect heavier rain. Please stay tuned for updates. Afternoon highs will reach the low to mid-90s.
There is a possibility of leftover storms late Wednesday afternoon and evening, but most areas are expected to remain dry. Afternoon highs will reach the mid-90s once again.
Looking ahead to next Thursday through the following weekend, we anticipate dry conditions with a gradual increase in temperature to the upper 90s. Heat index values will approach 105 degrees.
I hope everyone has a great weekend and please enjoy the weather when you can, it's the only weather you've got!
