Cold mornings and cool afternoons will prevail through the middle of next week, but precipitation is not anticipated until next Wednesday. Those are your weather stories for the next seven days.

Good morning, and welcome to Thursday. Please remember to grab your jacket on your way out the door this morning, as temperatures have dropped to around or slightly below freezing. Fortunately, the wind has subsided. Yesterday's peak wind gusts ranged from 41 to 49 mph, with the highest gust recorded at the Texas Motor Speedway. Today will be much calmer, with sunshine prevailing. Afternoon highs will reach approximately 60 degrees, which is slightly above average for this time of year.

Tonight's temperatures will not be as cold under clear skies, with lows dipping into the upper 30s to low 40s. Increasing high clouds on Friday will signal the approach of another cold front. Winds will pick up after noon, but highs should still reach around 60 degrees.

On Saturday morning, temperatures will be in the 30s, with increasing cloud cover throughout the day. Due to the cloud cover, highs may only reach around 45 degrees, which is slightly colder than previously anticipated. There is also a chance of precipitation on the radar, potentially in the form of light rain or snow, but temperatures will be in the upper 30s to low 40s, and the air will be very dry, so nothing should reach the ground.

Please protect your plants, pipes, and pets before bedtime on Saturday, as morning lows on Sunday will drop to the mid to upper 20s. Sunshine will return on Sunday, with afternoon highs reaching the mid-50s, which is average for this time of year.

Another cold front is expected on Monday, bringing slightly cooler temperatures with highs in the low 50s. A light freeze is anticipated on Tuesday morning. Clouds will increase on Tuesday ahead of our next weather system, which will arrive on Wednesday. Tuesday will be mostly cloudy and chilly, with highs in the mid to upper 40s. On Wednesday, highs will reach the low 50s, with a chance of rain finally returning to the area.

Have a great day today and enjoy the weather when you can, it's the only weather you've got!
