Less wind and low humidity for DFW, a slow warm up into the weekend

Skies are clear, the wind has calmed, and temperatures are a good 10 to 15゚ below average ( 61゚ ) for this time of the year. Most areas have settled into the mid to upper 40s and we still have a couple more hours for the temperatures to drop.

Another banner day is in store for us across north Texas. Average high now is 80゚. We'll approach that by this afternoon, as the wind slowly become southeasterly under a sunny sky.

Another cool night ahead to enjoy, but not as cool as this morning, with lows in the mid to upper 50s.

A slow warm up is on the way Thursday through the weekend, with high temperatures creeping back up into the 80s. We might even approach 90゚ by Mother's Day. By evening, a cold front will be slipping across the Red River Valley. This front will produce showers and thunderstorms, some of these may become severe.

This front, most likely won't make it through north Texas. A lot of the data I am analyzing shows this front becoming stationary along or just north of the DFW area. This does not bode well for more rounds of thunderstorms both Monday and Tuesday. Some of these storms may become severe.

Flooding will also be a concern, as waves of rain train over the same area from southwest to northeast.

It's way to early to talk about severe storms and flooding this far out, but it's certainly bears watching. It is MAY in north Texas.

In the meantime, enjoy the next 5 days because the weather will be fantastic, however there'll be a lot of wind Friday through Sunday. Some gusts will be as high as 35 mph, especially into the weekend.
