There are several chances of rain over the next seven days, nothing severe, but not a complete washout. After today's temperatures in the 50s, a mild weather pattern will unfold until the end of next week, as another glancing blow of some chilly air arrives.
Friday began with cloudy skies and temperatures near 50 degrees. There was some light precipitation showing up on the radar, and it could reach the ground by late morning into the afternoon hours. Pockets of light drizzle and light rain showers will stream in from the west and south during the second half of the day. Temperatures won't budge much with afternoon highs in the mid-50s.
Temperatures will hold steady in the mid-50s overnight with areas of light drizzle and spotty rain showers. By Saturday morning, and during the start of the Dallas marathon, an area of showers with a rumble of thunder will develop along and east of a Sherman to Fort Worth to Granbury line. This will head out of the area by late morning giving way to a partly cloudy sky by afternoon. Temperatures will be much warmer with highs near 70.
Clouds will move back into the area on Sunday morning. A few scattered showers could moe in during the first half of Sunday with highs back near 70. Peaks of sunshine are possible as well.
The next weather system arrives Monday morning in the form of a weak cold front. There will be enough lift along the front along with surface moisture to produce another area of showers and non-severe storms to develop almost right on top of DFW and slide east by noon. I still think we'll manage to get up into the mid to upper 60s before the front comes in mid-morning.
We will see some sunshine on Tuesday with increasing clouds by evening. It will be a bit cooler with highs near 60 degrees.
Another area of scattered showers and isolated non-severe storms will develop along a stronger cold front on Wednesday morning. These will slide off to our southeast by late morning. It will turn windy and cooler with afternoon highs near 60 degrees.. Close to average for this time of the year.
Thursday will be sunny, breezy, and much cooler with highs in the low 50s. As of now, it looks like a stronger front will arrive on Friday dropping temperatures into the 40s for highs the following weekend.
