A string of beautiful days are ahead for North Texas, except for Friday, when scattered showers and storms will move in from the north during the afternoon and dissipate rapidly after 9:00 p.m. The weekend looks fantastic, and a significant warm-up is expected next week.
Good morning. Welcome to almost Friday. We are waking up to a few clouds and temperatures mainly in the mid-to-upper 50s. There is nothing on radar, and no precipitation is expected in DFW today. However, south of Waco and especially south of San Antonio, widespread shower and thunderstorm activity will break out. We will stay dry today, with highs reaching the mid-70s. Enjoy.
Tomorrow morning will start in the 50s again, but by afternoon, scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop and move across the area from north to south, as an upper-level low continues to slowly drift through Louisiana. These showers and isolated storms will not be severe or widespread and will dissipate after 9:00 p.m. on Friday.
The Mother's Day weekend will follow with plenty of sunshine and pleasant temperatures for this time of year. We will reach the mid-70s on Saturday and the upper 70s on Sunday.
A ridge of high pressure will build across the state in the upper levels of the atmosphere next week, causing temperatures to rise to above-average levels. Monday will be sunny, with highs in the low 80s. Tuesday will approach 90 degrees, and by Wednesday, some areas will reach the mid-90s. The average high for this time of year is 81 degrees. Enjoy the summer-like weather.
Have a terrific day today, and please enjoy the weather when you can, it's the only weather you've got.
