Mild days ahead with below freezing temps over the weekend

A couple of more mild days are ahead before a brief cooldown arrives this weekend. Then we ride the roller coaster back up the hill to enjoy a big warming trend next week.

Thursday morning temperatures are expected to be in the mid-40s to low 50s under a partly cloudy sky. Wednesday's high hit 68 degrees, while today and tomorrow we'll warm to near 70 degrees.


The average high this time of the year is in the low 60s.

The next weather change arrives around dinner time Friday, as a strong cold front moves through the area. There's a very slight chance of showers along the front, but most will stay dry.

Temperatures will rapidly fall into the mid-40s by Friday evening and down into the low to mid-30s by Saturday morning.

Wind chills will be in the 20s, so make sure you protect your plants and bring your pets indoors.

Saturday will be sunny, windy, and chilly, with highs in the upper 40s.

A rapid warm-up will take place through midweek next week, with plenty of sunshine and a breezy south wind. By Monday, we'll reach 70 degrees By Tuesday, mid to upper-70s. By Wednesday, some areas will hit 80 degrees.

Saturday: Sunny, windy, and cold. Wind chills in the 20s early. High: Upper 40s.

Sunday: Light morning freeze, then sunny and cool. High: Upper 50s.

Monday: Sunny, breezy and warmer. High: Near 70.

Tuesday: Sunny and warm. High: Mid to upper 70s.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, continued warm. High: Near 80.
