More 100 degree days this week with a Heat Advisory today, poor air quality

Heat Advisory today. Poor Air Quality
Heat Advisory today. Poor Air Quality
National Weather Service - Fort Worth

As you probably know, we hit 100゚ yesterday. Unfortunately, we have many more 100゚ days to come over the coming weeks. We average 20 100゚ degree days a year, but so far this summer it hasn't been too bad. We can thank the unusual weather pattern with cold fronts and above average rain from May until mid July.

Another heat advisory in effect for today, however, there may be a few isolated showers and storms, especially along a North of hwy 380 this afternoon. A couple of more chances for some late day storms tomorrow, mainly east of Dallas, and Wednesday just about anywhere across North Texas. This should keep the temperatures a degree or 2 cooler through the period.

After Wednesday, 100 degree temperatures return through the weekend...with more heat advisories to boot. Welcome to late July and early August here in north Texas.
