All is quiet for your morning commute until after 8:00 a.m. After that, a large area of showers and strong thunderstorms will make its way through north Texas from east to wast. Wind will be the primary concern as well as flash flooding.
We'll get a break in the rain later this afternoon through the evening, but another cluster of storms forms to our northwest this evening and plows through the area towards midnight and 6:00 a.m.. Flooding, wind, and noise will be the threats.
If we're lucky today, temperatures will creep above today. Tonight, upper 60s, tomorrow, low 80s with the rain moving out before noon.
We finally get a break in the rain tomorrow afternoon through Thursday night, but a cold front will approach from the north late Thursday into Friday... but I think it stays north of the Red River. Unfortunately, two more clusters the storms will impact our weather, the 1st one, Friday morning, the 2nd, Saturday morning. FLOODING is a major concern!
The rest of your holiday weekend, for now, looks OK for the 2nd half of Saturday through Memorial Day. I can't rule out a few isolated afternoon and evening storms due to all the moisture in the air.
Your extended forecast for Tuesday through the rest of next week? Look for more waves of heavy rain unfortunately. I'll tackle that as we get closer to next week.
