Morning clouds with afternoon sun today, possible severe storms this evening

Step outside! It feels like the Gulf Coast! Temps are very warm for this time of the year, with readings in the mid to upper 60s! Clouds have also rolled in overnight.

There's nothing showing up on radar right now, but that might change in the next few hours along the Red River counties, where a few strong thunderstorms may develop. These should mainly stay to the north of the DFW area.

Now here comes the tricky part.  Will be cap hold in place this afternoon or will it break down? The dry line in west Texas will be surging east after 3 o'clock this aft. & approach DFW . If we clear out and temperatures get up close to 90゚, there is a chance for some isolated supercells to form along this line. Very large hail and damaging wind will be the threats. If we stay cloudy, the cap will hold in place and we'll have to wait for the cold front to produce the storms late this evening. The most severe weather  should stay northeast of a Greenville to Dallas to Corsicana line, or roughly east of I-35 and  I-45, south of town. Hail and wind will be the main threats, but isolated tornadoes are possible. After tonight's event, the weather looks great Saturday - Monday.

Our next weather change arrives late Monday, as a cold front brings a chance of rain and much cooler temps with it.

Tuesday through Thursday look cloudy, cooler, with a chance of showers each day.
