Morning clouds with afternoon sun for DFW, cold front arrives tonight

Tuesday
National Weather Service - Fort Worth

Low clouds have invaded this morning, but there's nothing showing up on radar. I can't rule out a few scattered showers forming as the day wears on, especially east of Central Expressway and Interstate 45. Just enough to wet the roadways. Afternoon highs will top out in the mid to upper 70s, with the warmest temperatures west of I-35W.

A strong cold front will plow through the area shortly before midnight, unfortunately, no rain is expected but the front. A different story across the Mississippi River Valley where a severe weather outbreak will take shape.

The big weather story for us, there'll be the 40° temperature difference from this morning to tomorrow morning. Low temperatures will fall into the low to mid 30s by the time you wake up. Dry air filters in and we stay chilly tomorrow with an afternoon high in the upper 40s. Wind will gust to 35 mph through the early morning and calm down to 10-20 mph by afternoon.

Some areas will experience a light freeze on Thursday morning, clouds will increase through the day with a few isolated showers possible before the day is done. Daytime highs will only warm into the low 50s. A south wind returns as well.

Friday looks mostly cloudy and milder with highs in the low 60s. Another cold front moves into the area on Saturday bringing a chance for showers with it, afternoon highs will dip back into the 50s. This front will be short lived though, it'll cruise back to the north on Sunday with a few showers possible. High as will reach the low 60s.

Monday looks uneventful with highs back in the low 70s.
