Morning rain showers for most of DFW, some afternoon sun today and milder temperatures

Monday
National Weather Service - Fort Worth

We're starting Monday with a large area of moderate rain with some thunder working its way in from the west. Just about everybody across North Texas will see rain through the morning hours, but nothing will be heavy or severe.

This area of rain will taper off through late morning. There will be some breaks in the clouds this afternoon with high temperatures between 85 and 90°, depending on how much sunshine you see.

By late tonight through tomorrow morning, a cold front will move into the area coupled with a strong upper level disturbance. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop to our west late this afternoon and evening and move across the area through the overnight hours, ending from west to east in the morning. Again nothing severe is expected. Morning lows will dip into the upper 60s to low 70s with highs tomorrow only in the low 80s.

A few leftover showers are possible the second half of tomorrow into Wednesday afternoon, but most of you will stay dry. Highs on Wednesday will be near 80°. By late Wednesday into Thursday, another wave of rain will move through the area. Nothing severe is expected. Afternoon highs on Thursday will be in the mid to upper 70s.

A couple of more disturbances will move through the area Friday and Saturday producing scattered showers and storms across north Texas. Afternoon highs will reach the lower 80s. As of now, I'm keeping Sunday dry with highs in the mid 80s.

Just about all of you will see rain off and on this week and much cooler temperatures.
