Morning showers and storms, turning windy and much colder

Finally seeing some rain across north Texas! And a whole bunch more coming Monday through Wednesday of next week!

A strong line of storms will accompany the front and drop a quick inch or more of welcome rain across all of North Texas. Some areas hv already seen 1 to 2", mainly north of DFW this morning.

Storms will move out of the area after 9:00 a.m. as the cold north wind rushes in. Temperatures will fall well down into the fifties or maybe even some upper forties by early afternoon and sit there all day long. Wind chills will be in the low to mid forties, so be sure to grab your heavy coat before you head out the door this morning.

Clouds will stick around all day as well, and some patchy drizzle is not out of the question through mid afternoon.

The weekend will start off chilly, with clouds but the sun will reappear by early Saturday afternoon. Temperatures will remain on the cool side with highs in the sixties.

A quick warm up on Sunday as we approach 80゚.

Clouds rapidly increase into early Monday, as our 2nd cold front plows through the area. Temperatures will be near 70 early Monday morning and fall through the forties during the day. We will also have widespread chilly rain and thunder through the day.

Precipitation will let up a bit Monday night, but will return with a vengeance Tuesday afternoon and evening. Another break Tuesday night and the last wave of moderate to heavy chilly rain will move through the area the 1st half of Wednesday.

Temperatures Tuesday and Wednesday will stay in the forties with some thirties along 35W and points west. It's not out of the question on Tuesday morning, that some freezing rain may fall...West of a Gainesville to Weatherford to Comanche line. Bridges and overpasses and elevated objects may get a quick coating.

Sunshine will reappear on Thursday with highs in the mid to upper fifties.
