After the welcome rain on Monday, a few Severe Thunderstorm Warnings, and morning showers on Tuesday, North Texas will see great weather for Election Day. By Thursday and Friday, more rain is in the forecast.
A rainy morning on Tuesday will give way to clear skies and cooler temperatures in the afternoon. Temperatures fell into the low 60s across North Texas overnight, but readings are a lot cooler behind a cold front west of Decatur and Weatherford. Readings fell into the 50s in those areas, and into the 30s and 40s in the Panhandle and south plains.
There will be plenty of sunshine by Tuesday afternoon with highs only in the mid-60s. Tuesday night, skies will be clear, the wind will relax and temperatures will fall into the upper 40s to low 50s. It will be the coolest overnight North Texas has felt in quite some time. Wednesday is equally as nice with afternoon highs in the low 70s with plenty of sunshine.
The next weather system will rapidly approach Thursday into Friday. Widespread showers and isolated thunderstorm activity will break out Thursday afternoon and start to pick up on Friday. Lots of areas will see at least an inch of rain, some totals will be higher in some areas. This next system will not produce any severe weather. Temperatures will hover in the low to mid-60s in the rain. It might not get out of the 50s on Friday in some areas, especially the western parts of North Texas.
Skies will clear out by early Saturday and a beautiful weekend is ahead. Plenty of sunshine with afternoon highs in the mid-60s on Saturday, low 70s on Sunday, and the low to mid-70s by Monday. Morning lows will be in the 40s and 50s.
