National Weather Service confirms 10 tornadoes in Friday outbreak

The severe weather North Texas experienced on Friday resulted in 10 confirmed tornadoes, according to the National Weather Service. There were no reported fatalies, but the storms left a trail of damage.

There were two confirmed tornadoes in Hill County and four each in McLennan and Navarro counties. Nine of the 10 were either EF-0 or EF-1 tornadoes, the one EF-2 touched down in a rural part of Hill County near the town of Penelope.

After a suspected tornado, the National Weather Service sends a team to survey the damage and determine the strength of the storm.
