A few more pleasant days are in store before rain chances increase late Sunday into early Monday. After that, the weather will turn windy and colder late Tuesday through the rest of next week.

Friday will feature plenty of sunshine with afternoon highs in the low 70s. The next storm system will dig into the desert Southwest this weekend and eject into the Plains states early next week.

Saturday will be rain-free with more clouds than sun. Afternoon highs will reach the low to mid-70s. More clouds than sun on Sunday with afternoon highs in the low to mid 70s once again. By Sunday night, the system to our west will cause widespread shower and thunderstorm activity to break out across the western third of the state. Some scattered showers and isolated strong storms will develop to the south on Sunday afternoon. There may be a few strong to severe storms south and west of the Dallas-Fort Worth area Sunday night. Hail and wind will be the primary threats.

As the whole system swings across the area Monday morning, a line of showers and storms will move in from West Texas. These may impact the morning commute on Monday. Small hail and wind will be the main threats. Everything will press off to the east by midday with clearing skies. Afternoon highs will warm into the low 70s.

Tuesday's beautiful with highs and the low 70s once again, but by Tuesday night, a strong cold front will move through the area. It will be windy and colder for Wednesday and Thursday with afternoon highs in the mid to upper 50s. Morning lows will dip into the 30s and 40s.
