Unfortunately, North Texas missed out on the rain on Wednesday, and now the area will be dealing with dry conditions, a roller coaster ride with temperatures, and a High Wind Watch in place for Friday.
Temperatures on Thursday morning were a good 10 degrees above average for this time of year. Readings fell into the mid to upper 50s under a mostly clear sky. A relatively quiet day is in store across North Texas. Increasing high clouds will lead to afternoon highs that are very warm for this time of year. How does the upper 80s sound? It will be an awesome day for golf.
A quiet night is ahead as well. Morning lows will dip into the upper 50s.
A High Wind Watch is in effect for Friday. South-southwesterly winds will cause a very high grass fire danger across much of the state, with peak wind gusts as high as 60 mph in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Afternoon highs will reach near 80 degrees.
The wind will relax a little and shift to the north on Saturday as a cold front comes through during the afternoon. Afternoon highs may reach the 70-degree mark with a north wind gusting to 25 mph. Grass fire danger will continue. Sunday looks equally as nice with less wind. There will be plenty of sunshine with highs below 70 degrees.
Next week looks to be dry at least through Wednesday. Highs will reach the upper 70s on Monday, load into the 80s on Tuesday, but cool off on Wednesday behind a strong cold front. Afternoon highs will struggle to hit 60 degrees. Unfortunately, there will be no rain on that front next week.
