Its' the last day of meteorological summer, but we're still going to be flirting with the century mark into the holiday weekend and for most of next week. A few of you lucky ones, especially east of Dallas, will see some scattered showers and storms over the holiday weekend but most will stay dry across DFW.
We hit 98° again yesterday and that's what I'm forecasting again for today and tomorrow, as a southerly wind slowly returns. Also, poor air quality and a high grass fire danger will continue today.
Temperatures will creep up a couple more degrees over the holiday weekend with afternoon highs close to 100°. Again there's also a chance for a few scattered showers and storms east of Dallas Sunday and Labor Day.

No changes in our forecast through the middle of next week, with afternoon highs near 100° again. A few isolated showers and storms are possible east of DFW on Tuesday. This chance creeps into all of north Texas on Wednesday, but right now coverage will only be around 25%.
August is just about gone ladies and gentlemen. Bring on September. Bring on fall and the cooler temperatures!
