For those anticipating cooler temperatures, a wait until next Wednesday is necessary, as a fall cold front arrives in a little over six days, bringing temperatures slightly below seasonal levels by the end of next week.

Welcome to Thursday. If afternoon highs near 90° and morning lows in the 60s are appealing, the next six days across North Texas will be enjoyable. A high-pressure bubble in the mid-atmospheric levels will continue to dictate the weather through next Tuesday. Morning lows will be pleasant, while afternoon highs will be warm, with tolerable humidity levels during the day. This unseasonably warm weather pattern is affecting not only Texas but also the Midwest, spanning from Chicago to Detroit, St. Louis to Louisville, and DFW to Atlanta, Georgia.

By next Tuesday evening, a decent front will move into the Panhandle and central Oklahoma, bringing shower and thunderstorm activity to those areas. However, it is uncertain whether these will persist as the front enters North Texas on Wednesday afternoon. Afternoon highs on Thursday will dip to near 80 degrees, with morning lows in the 50s across much of the area. North winds will gust up to 20 mph, creating a chill in the air on Thursday morning.

In the meantime, it is essential to stay cool, hydrated, take frequent breaks when working outdoors, and wear light-colored, loose-fitting clothing, sunscreen, and a hat. Additionally, ensure pets have a cool place to stay and access to plenty of water if they will be outdoors for an extended period.

Patience is necessary, as fall-like temperatures will eventually arrive, particularly during the second half of October. Moreover, a mini severe weather season is expected to occur through October and into November. It is crucial to remain weather-aware. Rest assured that the weather will be closely monitored.

Have a terrific day today and enjoy the weather when you can, it's the only weather you've got.
