Partly cloudy and mild over the next couple of day, rain moves in Saturday

Thrusday
National Weather Service - Fort Worth

It'll be very mild today and tomorrow before we cool off into the weekend, especially early next week. Plus, we have decent rain chances coming in two waves. The first wave arrives the first half of Saturday, and the second wave during the day on Sunday. Average rainfall totals will be between a half inch to 1 inch across the area and no severe weather is expected.

We're waking up to a partly cloudy sky with temperatures ranging between 55° and 60° across North Texas. Did you know our average high this time of the year is now 60°? Today will be a decent day with areas of sunshine. Afternoon highs will reach the low to mid-70s, with a SW wind at 10 to 20 mph.

Clouds return overnight with morning lows in the upper 40s to mid-50s. No rain is in the forecast, yet.

FridayNational Weather Service - Fort Worth

Friday looks equally as nice but with a lot more cloud cover. Afternoon high as a once again warm into the low 70s. A weak cold front will slide into the area Friday evening and will act as a railroad track for showers and isolated storms during the first half of Saturday. Temperatures will hover in the low 60s in the morning, dropping into the mid-50s during the rain.

The next wave of rain moves In on Sunday, as a strong upper-level disturbance cruises close to the area, dragging a cold front through the area by late afternoon. The heaviest rain will fall along the Red River Valley. This rain should move out of the area by evening, but some wrap-around moisture may bring some showers back to the area on Monday morning. We'll also turn windy and colder as temperatures go from the mid-50s on Sunday down into the mid to upper-30s by Monday morning. I can't rule out some big fat wet snowflakes towards the Red River especially in southern Oklahoma before 9:00 a.m. Monday.

Skies will clear by Monday afternoon with high temperatures in the low to mid-50s. North winds will gust to 25 mph, putting windshields in the 40s all day.
