It's another chilly start this morning across north Texas. Temperatures range from 26゚ in Denton to 40゚ at DFW at the 5 o'clock hour.
Plenty of sunshine and breezy conditions is our weather story today. Afternoon highs will be about 10゚ above average with readings in the low seventies.
Tonight, skies will remain clear, but we won't be as cold as this morning. Temperatures will fall into the low to mid forties.
More of the same is expected tomorrow, with a bit more wind. South winds will gust to 35 mph, as temperatures warm back into the low seventies.
Things start to change on Wednesday. Skies will be mostly cloudy with a few showers developing during the day. Afternoon highs will again reach the low seventies, with south winds gusting to 30 mph.
By Wednesday late evening, a line of showers and storms, some severe, will develop to the west of DFW and plow though here into early Thursday morning. As of now, small hail and wind will be the threats. The Storm Prediction Center has put all of north Texas in a level 2 out of 5 for severe weather late Wednesday. As always, I will be monitoring.
By Thursday morning, a strong cold front will blow through here clearing things out and dropping temperatures from the upper fifties in the morning, down into the forties by afternoon. North winds will gust to 30 mph, making it feel a lot colder. Readings will continue to drop into the mid to upper twenties by Friday morning.
Plenty of sunshine will dominate on Friday, but temperatures will remain on the cool side. Afternoon highs will only reach the low fifties.
A beautiful weekend is expected with plenty of sunshine and a slow warm up. Afternoon highs will reach the low sixties on Saturday, mid to upper sixties on Sunday.
