Rain chances increase by Friday

Rain chances increase by Friday

QUIET WEATHER NOW, BUT RAIN AND A STRONG COLD FRONT COULD BE ON THE WAY!

Good morning, North Texas! Welcome to Tuesday!

Our quiet weather pattern will continue over the next few days, but changes are finally on the horizon. Rain chances could return late this week, followed by a potentially strong cold front next week.

A few showers developed across eastern North Texas this morning, as expected. These showers will continue moving east of Interstate 45 and Central Expressway. If you're traveling into the Dallas area from the east along I-20, I-30, Highway 80, I-45 or US-175, you could encounter some wet roads this morning.

Otherwise, expect partly cloudy skies and another beautiful day across North Texas, with afternoon temperatures climbing into the upper 70s.

Our pleasant weather continues Wednesday, with highs in the low to middle 80s, before temperatures settle near 80 degrees Thursday. Clouds will gradually increase as we watch our next potential weather maker.

TROPICAL STORM VANCE COULD BRING MUCH-NEEDED RAIN!

Tropical Storm Vance is currently in the eastern Pacific and is forecast to make landfall in far western Mexico, just east of Cabo, late Thursday evening.

Moisture from the storm could spread rapidly into northern Mexico and eventually reach Texas. The current projected track would bring the greatest potential for heavy rainfall into the western half of Texas before the rain spreads toward North Texas late Thursday and especially Friday, potentially continuing into early Halloween morning.
However, the track remains uncertain, so we will need to keep a close eye on this system over the next few days. A shift farther east could improve our chances of receiving some beneficial rainfall across the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Our rainfall deficit for the year has now exceeded four inches, so we could certainly use the rain!

HERE'S YOUR EXTENDED FORECAST:
Tuesday: Partly cloudy and pleasant, with highs in the upper 70s.
Wednesday: Warmer, with highs in the low to middle 80s.
Thursday: Highs near 80, with increasing clouds and rain chances beginning to develop.
Friday and early Halloween morning: Rain chances increase, potentially bringing periods of heavy rainfall. Temperatures may remain in the 70s, with cooler conditions possible, especially west of the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Halloween: Highs generally in the middle to upper 70s, depending on cloud cover and rainfall.
Sunday: Temperatures rebound toward 80 degrees.

Monday and Tuesday: Additional rain chances may develop as another upper-level disturbance approaches the region. I'll continue monitoring that system and update you as the forecast becomes clearer.

For now, enjoy another beautiful North Texas day! We have a few more days of pleasant weather before the pattern potentially changes in a big way.
