A surface low pressure area is now forming around Wichita Falls. Once it cruises east of Gainesville, the front will blow through the area by afternoon. Not out of the question to see a thin line of thunderstorms form along and east of a Sherman to Dallas to Waxahachie line close to the noon hour. Areas west of this line won't see that much rain. Nothing severe is expected because we'll have no heating today as temperatures will hover in the mid to upper fifties.
As stated before, wind will shift to the northwest and gust to 30 mph, as colder air rushes in. This area of low pressure will really start to intensify once it moves east of the Arklatex tonight. We will get some wrap-around moisture on the back side of this surface low, creating areas of drizzle through this evening and overnight. Temperatures will fall into the upper thirties to low forties by daybreak tomorrow.
A tricky forecast for tomorrow. There will be a sharp line of clearing along and southwest of a Decatur to Fort Worth to Corsicana line. These areas will jump into the low fifties for highs, but if your socked in with clouds, you'll struggle to get out of the middle forties all day long with wind chills in the upper thirties.
I think a bit more sunshine will dominate our weather Friday before clouds roll back in Saturday. Temperatures each day will have a hard time getting above 50゚
Then, there is Saturday night and Sunday…more about that on Friday.
Please make sure you get your weather reports from a reliable source. There will be lots of talk about snow on Sunday, don't believe everything you read this far in advance. So many factors have to come into play to see snow in north Texas.
