Rainfall chances are minimal today for DFW. But the wind increases, the grass fire danger grows, and the Excessive Heat Warnings continue across North Texas.
Excessive heat warnings are issued when the ambient temperature reaches 105 degrees or higher, or.. the heat index value hits or exceeds 110°.
Unfortunately, these Excessive Heat Warnings will continue through the week and into the upcoming weekend. The grass fire danger also remains very high, as SSW winds gust to 30 mph (at least through Friday).

Not record-breaking heat, but it will be hot enough. Afternoon highs today and tomorrow will be between 104° and 106°. Forecast highs Friday through Monday.. 106° to 108°. We may break some records this weekend!
So far we've had 30 triple digit days in 2023, 15 in a row, and we may exceed last year's total (47 days) by the end of this month if this pattern continues, which I think it will.
