Parts of North Texas saw a little flooding on Monday morning. Two to three inches of rain fell in southern Dallas and northern Ellis counties. Widespread shower and thunderstorm activity will remain south and east of the Dallas-Fort Worth area through 12 p.m.

A cold front will continue to slowly sag south and east of the area through the day taking most of the rain with it. There may be a few leftover showers behind the front during the day with temperatures in the 70s under the clouds,

The front will be south of Dallas-Fort Worth on Tuesday. This is where most of the rain will redevelop, with only a slight chance of a shower across the metroplex. Temperatures Tuesday will reach the low to mid-80s with some sunshine.

A northerly flow in the upper levels of the atmosphere is set up across North Texas. A strong upper-level disturbance will dive out of the plains states late Tuesday into the first half of Wednesday, bringing a chance for more showers and storms. Not everyone will see rain but it remains in the forecast. Temperatures will be in the 70s in the rain.

This upper-level low will shift to the east of Texas on Thursday, but some of the data is suggesting it'll back to the west on Friday and Saturday, spreading clouds back into the area. It's still too early to tell if North Texas will see any rain out of this. East Texas has the best chance. Under the clouds, temperatures will struggle to get out of the low 80s into the weekend. More sunshine will allow temperatures to warm into the mid to upper 80s by Sunday.
