UPDATE: The temperature reached 91 degrees at DFW Airport shortly after 1 p.m. on Monday, breaking a 107-year-old record for Feb. 26.
The 91-degree temperature marked the seventh-earliest North Texas has experienced a high of degrees or more. The earliest 90-degree day came on Jan. 31, 1911. The second-earliest was just last year -- Feb. 21, 2023.
ORIGINAL POST: Record-breaking heat today and tomorrow, a strong cold front early Wednesday morning drops temperatures back below average for the first time in a while, chilly rain showers on Thursday and then we warm right back up into the weekend.
We start Monday with a few clouds and temperatures between 55° and 60°. The average low is 43°. Our average high this time of the year is 63° and will be a good 30° above that today. We are forecasting a high temperature of 93°. The record for today is 90°.
Very mild conditions will prevail overnight with morning lows in the mid to upper 60s. More record-breaking heat Tuesday afternoon with a high in the upper 80s. The record tomorrow is 85°.

A strong cold front will plow through the area after midnight Tuesday into early Wednesday morning. No rain is expected along the front, but it will turn windy and sharply colder. You'll wake up to temperatures in the low to mid-40s. Wind chills will be in the 30s. Mostly cloudy, windy, and cool with highs in the low 50s.
Thursday will be cloudy and cool with a chance of showers. Afternoon highs will struggle to get above 50°.
After 2 days of below-average temperatures readings will rebound nicely Friday through the weekend. Plenty of sunshine Friday with highs in the low 70s. We'll be near 80° this weekend with passing high clouds. There's also a very slight chance of showers and storms late Sunday.
