Near-average temperatures, slight late-day storm chances, and high humidity will prevail through the weekend and into early next week. It could be worse, considering the hottest temperatures have been concentrated across the eastern and southeastern United States so far this early summer.
A high-pressure bubble in the upper levels is generating a southeast flow directly off the Texas coast. A notable disturbance will move onshore today and proceed northwestward through the late afternoon and evening, bringing scattered showers and storms to our area before the day concludes. Please note that most areas will remain dry. Afternoon highs today will reach the low 90s, with heat index values in the upper 90s. Any storms that develop will dissipate after sunset, with severity expected to remain very low.
The forecast for Thursday and Friday is similar, with late-day storms becoming less frequent. Afternoon highs will reach the low to mid-90s, with heat index values in the upper 90s.
Shower and thunderstorm activity will be minimal from Saturday through Monday, with afternoon highs in the mid-90s and heat index values nearing 100 degrees. By early to mid-next week, the upper-level flow will shift northwestward, allowing storms to move into our northern counties. Some of these storms may persist into our area by Tuesday and Wednesday. Afternoon highs will remain near average, in the mid-90s, with no triple-digit temperatures forecasted.
Please remember to stay hydrated and take frequent breaks when working outdoors. Additionally, ensure the safety of children and pets by checking the back seat before exiting your vehicle. Thank you.
Have a blessed day, and enjoy the weather when you can, it's the only weather you've got!
