Showers and storms reman in the forecast through Friday morning

North Texas Forecast for Thursday, May 29, 2025
North Texas Forecast for Thursday, May 29, 2025
National Weather Service

We anticipate a few opportunities for showers and storms over the next seven days, but overall, the severity appears to be very low.

Currently, we are experiencing a cloudy sky with temperatures ranging from the upper 60s to low 70s. Radar imagery is clear, and we do not expect any precipitation until late this evening or early tomorrow morning. Fortunately, these storms are not expected to be severe. Today will bring partial sunshine as temperatures rise into the mid-80s.

Our next weather system will arrive around midnight, bringing scattered showers and storms into the area overnight. The severity of these storms is expected to be very low, and most areas will receive less than half an inch of rain. Temperatures will be cooler tomorrow morning, ranging from the low to mid-60s, with decreasing cloud cover by late morning. Tomorrow's high temperature will be near 80 degrees.

The weekend forecast appears favorable, with afternoon highs in the mid-80s on Saturday and approaching 90 degrees on Sunday. Morning lows will remain in the 60s.

The outlook for Monday through Wednesday is also positive, with morning low clouds and afternoon sunshine. Temperatures will approach 90 degrees on Monday, with low 90s expected on Tuesday and Wednesday.

I will continue to monitor the dryline, which may produce showers and storms 200-300 miles to our west late Monday and again late Wednesday. If these storms persist, they may impact our area after midnight. Overall, the seven-day forecast indicates no significant threat of large hail or tornadoes, which is a positive outlook.

I encourage you to enjoy the favorable weather conditions when possible!
