Severe weather moves through DFW, setting us up for a nice Spring weekend

The severe wather moved quickly across North Texas early Friday morning, but it's setting us up for a beautiful Spring weekend.

The line of storms moved across Dallas-Fort Worth but weakened a little bit throughout the course of the morning. These was pelnty of horizontal rain, dangerous cloud-to-ground lightning, and wind gusts as high as 40 mph, as the line of storms moved across the area through 9 a.m.

The weekend looks perfect with highs in the mid seventies! Morning lows will dip into the forties in some areas, especially on Sunday morning. You may want to protect your plants.

Another cold front will sag into the area Monday into Tuesday bringing temperatures down. Afternoon highs will still be in the low to mid seventies on Monday, cooling into the mid sixties for Tuesday and Wednesday. They're may even be a few showers around late Monday night into Tuesday, but severe weather is not expected.

Our next weather change arrives on Thursday with the threat for more showers and storms. Afternoon highs will warm back into the mid to upper seventies!

Monday: Partly to mostly cloudy and cooler. High: Low 70s.

Tuesday and Wednesday: Partly to mostly cloudy and cool. A Few showers. High: Mid 60s.

Thursday: Scattered showers and storms. High: Upper 70s.
