Below average temperatures all week leading into Christmas Day, with the coldest December air in almost 30 years heading our way Thursday!
A few of you lucky ones are getting some rain this morning, mainly south of Interstate 30. We'll see a few showers around the DFW area, but the measurable rain will stay to our south and east through the day today. Temperatures will hold steady in the mid to upper 40s.
There is a chance for some fog and drizzle developing overnight into tomorrow morning with morning lows in the low 40s. A peek or two of sunshine may appear by tomorrow afternoon with highs pushing 50°. Clouds stick around on Wednesday as well with highs back in the low 50s.
Now is the time, if you haven't done so already, to winterize your home and vehicles. A VERY strong Arctic cold front will plow through north Texas around noon on Thursday. Lunchtime temperatures will be near 50 degrees, by 3:00 p.m. upper 20s, by 6:00 p.m. upper teens! There is also a VERY slight chance for some light wintry precipitation Thursday afternoon, but most of it will stay up into the Arklatex and in eastern Oklahoma. Sorry kiddos, no white Christmas, for now. It's not out of the question but it's doubtful. I will continue to monitor the short range data as we get closer to Thursday.

We stay cold Friday, Saturday and Christmas Day with high temperatures in the 20s Friday and Saturday, 30s by Christmas Day. Morning lows will be in the teens and 20s. A rapid warm up next week!
Have a terrific day and week y'all and please enjoy the weather, when you can, it's the only weather you've got!
