Spring officially arrived at 4:01 a.m. Thursday, although the temperature did not reflect it. Fortunately, the wind subsided, providing some relief.
A high-pressure system approached North Texas on Thursday morning, resulting in relaxed winds, but temperatures remained in the 30s throughout the region. Current readings range from 35° to 44° under clear skies. As the day progresses, the high-pressure system will move eastward, ushering in southerly winds by tonight and tomorrow.
Tomorrow is expected to be windy, with south winds gusting up to 30 mph. Morning lows will be in the mid-40s, while afternoon highs will reach the mid-70s, making for a beautiful day.
The weekend will begin with milder temperatures, as morning lows dip into the low 50s on Saturday, accompanied by afternoon highs in the low 80s. Southwinds will persist, blowing at 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
On Sunday, high clouds will invade the area, and breezy conditions will continue. Afternoon highs will reach the low 80s again. A cold front will approach late in the afternoon, bringing a chance of strong storms to the southern half of North Texas, specifically areas south of Interstate 30. However, this forecast is subject to change as the event draws near. It is possible that storms may develop farther north, affecting the DFW area. Please stay informed for updates. Any storms that do develop may become severe, particularly south of the area.
Next week will commence with pleasant weather on Monday, featuring plenty of sunshine and highs in the low to mid-70s. Tuesday and Wednesday will be equally pleasant, with temperatures gradually warming to the low 80s. No precipitation is forecasted.
The unusually quiet weather pattern will persist over the next 7 days, with no major weather systems impacting our area, except for Sunday evening.
