Fall starts Saturday morning, but it won't feel like it anytime soon. Tuesday night saw the partial eclipse of the Super Harvest Moon, but it was only 8% eclipsed. In March, there will be a total lunar eclipse.
An area of high pressure in the upper levels of the atmosphere will continue to dominate North Texas weather through the weekend. Afternoon highs will be well up into the 90s. It will be in the low to mid-90s on Wednesday, mid to upper 90s on Thursday and Friday, and low to mid-90s this weekend.
By early next week, data is showing signs of a cold front sagging into the area by Tuesday. If this happens, rain chances will increase and temperatures will slowly drop. Temperatures could still get close to 90 degrees on Monday and Tuesday, but by Wednesday, the sky should clear and temperatures will fall into the 80s for highs.
This is all still days away, but something to look forward to. Typically, we really start to cool down as we work our way through October, as a series of cold fronts gradually cool us down through the month.
