It's hard to believe that the great State Fair of Texas opens today at 10:00 a.m.! 24 days of food, frolics, music, and huge crowds await. I plan to visit during the last week when the weather is cooler.
TGIF, ladies and gentlemen! We've made it through another work and school week. Many of us experienced rain, and now we're enjoying cool mornings and warm afternoons. This weather pattern is expected to continue for at least the next week.
The average high temperature is currently 86°, while the average low temperature is 65°. These readings will drop a couple of more degrees before the end of the month. By the end of October, the average high temperature will drop to the low 70s, and by the end of November, it will reach the low 60s.
We're waking up to a comfortable morning, with temperatures in the 60s across much of the area, and some 50s in sheltered areas. Today will be sunny and warm, with highs in the mid to upper 80s.
Surface high pressure will continue to drift eastward this weekend, bringing southerly winds at 5 to 10 miles per hour. No major storm systems will impact our weather this weekend or next week. However, a back-door cold front may bring cooler temperatures by next Thursday, and a stronger front may arrive by the following weekend.
High pressure in the upper levels of the atmosphere will build across the state next week, with morning lows in the mid to upper 60s, and daytime highs in the upper 80s. No rain is expected for the foreseeable future.
This is a relatively straightforward forecast. I hope everyone has a great weekend and enjoys the weather when they can, it's the only weather you've got!
