Three cold fronts will impact our weather over the next next 5 days, but unfortunately, none of them will bring rain to north Texas. There is a chance of some rain east of Dallas on Saturday, but that's about it.
Our 1st cold front is arriving as I am typing this discussion. Wind has gone northerly and will pick up to 10 to 20 mph by early afternoon. Plenty of sunshine with temperatures in the mid to upper fifties will greet you during the day.
It will be clear and cold tonight with temperatures falling into the mid to upper thirties.
By tomorrow morning, the 2nd cold front arrives. This will have Arctic air behind it. Temperatures will hold steady in the mid to upper thirties all.. day...long. Factoring in the northerly wind gusting to 35 mph, wind chills will be in the twenties all...day... long!
Please make sure you protect your plants, pets and pipes before heading to bed tomorrow night. Also, don't forget to turn your sprinklers off! By Friday morning, readings will have fallen into the upper teens to low twenties across north Texas. Pipe bursting cold!
By Saturday, the Arctic air retreats back to the north as fast as it moved in. Afternoon highs will soar into the mid sixties!
Our 3rd DRY cold front arrives early Sunday, dropping temperatures back in the mid fifties.
Light freezes are expected both Monday and Tuesday morning of next week, with highs in the low to mid fifties.
