Triple-digit temperatures are here to stay for a while and so are the Heat Advisories. It will be sunny with building heat through the weekend.
Temperatures Tuesday morning were in the low 80s and Heat Advisories will return. It will be sunny and hot with the afternoon high near 100 degrees. The heat index will range between 105 and 107 during the afternoon. South winds will be at 10 to 20 mph.
The mercury will continue to rise through the week as the heat advisories continue. It will be 101 on Wednesday, 102 degrees on Thursday, 103 degrees on Friday, and 104 degrees this weekend. Temperatures will be a bit hotter to the west of Interstate 35W. Heat index values will approach 110 by this weekend.
It looks like this ridge of high pressure in the upper levels of the atmosphere will dominate the weather in the next week as well.
