Well, folks, it's time to face the music - our weather forecast is about as exciting as a lecture on crop rotation. A couple of cold fronts are headed our way, and I'm not talking about the kind that bring thrilling thunderstorms or blizzards.
Nope, these are more like the in-laws - they'll drop by, make things a bit chilly, and then leave us wondering why we even bothered. And don't even get me started on the rainfall - or should I say, the lack thereof? It's like Mother Nature decided to give North Texas the old dry brush-off.
Happy Thursday, everyone! I hope your work week has been more thrilling than our weather forecast. I'm over here tapping my foot, waiting for something - anything - exciting to happen. But it looks like I'll have to keep on waiting, at least for the next 7 to 10 days. Maybe winter will bring some actual weather action when it officially arrives on December 21st. Until then, we're stuck with this ho-hum forecast.
Right now, temperatures are in the upper 30s to low 40s, so grab a jacket if you're heading out the door. But don't worry, you won't need it later - plenty of sunshine will make an appearance, and afternoon highs will reach the mid 60s. Average high this time of year is 59 degrees, so we're not exactly breaking any records.
Friday's forecast is just as yawn-inducing, with morning lows in the 40s and afternoon highs in the upper 60s. A weak cold front will slide in on Friday evening, but it'll only drop temperatures by a few degrees on Saturday. Morning lows will once again be in the 40s, and afternoon highs will reach the low to mid 60s.
Things will get slightly more interesting on Saturday night, when a strong cold front comes barreling in. But don't get too excited - the cold air won't stick around for long. Sunday will be pretty brutal, though, with morning lows dipping between 30 and 35 degrees, and afternoon highs struggling to get above 45 degrees. And to make matters worse, we'll have increasing high clouds to deal with.
Monday morning will bring a freeze to many areas, but afternoon highs will get back into the mid 50s. It's just a glancing blow from this chilly air, so don't start building your igloo just yet.
Tuesday will be mainly cloudy, and I wouldn't rule out a few showers moving across the area. Afternoon highs will reach the upper 50s. And finally, on Wednesday, we'll be back in the 60s, with a few showers south and east of North Texas.
That's it for our thrilling weather forecast. I hope you managed to stay awake through all that. Have a terrific day, and try to enjoy the weather when you can - it's the only weather you've got!
