Monday featured another mild and muggy morning across North Texas with some scattered showers and isolated non-severe storms possible in the afternoon. Highs will warm into the low to mid-80s.
A strong cap will be in place late Monday afternoon and evening, keeping the severe threat very low. It's a different story across Oklahoma and Kansas where the severe threat is very high. If the cap does break across the metroplex, severe storms could pop up.
Tuesday and most of Wednesday look relatively quiet, but temperatures will heat up. Afternoon highs will reach the upper 80s on Tuesday and near 90 on Wednesday. Factor in the oppressive humidity and heat index values may reach the upper 90s.
A cold front will approach late Wednesday into the first half of Thursday. This front may produce more scattered severe storms as it moves through the area. It looks like the best chances on Thursday will be south and east of DFW. Stay tuned. Highs on Thursday will only reach the upper 70s!
Friday and Saturday look fantastic with low humidity. All will enjoy cool mornings and pleasant afternoons. Lows will drop into the 50s with afternoon highs in the mid to upper 70s. By Sunday, rain chances could return to the forecast, but that is still days away. Highs on Sunday will be in the mid to upper 70s again.
