North Texas forecast for Monday and Tuesday, April 14-15, 2025.
National Weather Service

DFW tied a record on Sunday with a high of 93 degrees. As Easter weekend nears, the weather is expected to take a turn for the worse.

Monday began with partly cloudy and humid conditions and temperatures in the 60s. This is relatively mild for this time of year. A cold front is expected to move through the area Monday afternoon, bringing cooler temperatures. Highs will reach the mid-to-upper 80s, which is about 10 degrees above average. The cold front will slide through in the evening, leading to significantly cooler temperatures Tuesday morning. Clear skies and temperatures in the low-to-mid 50s, with a north wind of 10-20 mph.

Tuesday will be sunny, breezy, and cool, with highs in the mid-70s. Wednesday will be equally pleasant, but with a return to southerly winds and gusts up to 25 mph. This will lead to warmer temperatures, reaching the low 80s. Our warm-up will continue on Thursday, with ample sunshine, windy conditions, and highs in the upper 80s. A south wind will gust up to 30 mph.

By Friday the weather pattern will start to change. Moisture from the Gulf of Mexico will interact with a dryline in western Texas, leading to showers and storms. Some of these storms may become severe, with all modes of severe weather possible. If these storms hold together, they will move into North Texas on Saturday morning. Highs on Friday will reach the low-to-mid 80s.

A lull in the storms is expected during the first half of Saturday, but more storms will develop in western Texas by late Saturday afternoon and evening. These storms will move eastward, potentially becoming severe, with all modes of severe weather possible. Highs on Saturday will reach the low 80s.

Showers and storms will continue to move through the area on Sunday, but should start to clear out by the second half of the day. Highs on Sunday will reach the low 80s, with decreasing cloud cover.
