A wind advisory is in effect today, with above-average temperatures expected through the weekend, below-average precipitation, a weak cold front, and a pleasant weekend forecast. These are the key weather stories for the next 7 days.
Good morning, and welcome to Tuesday. I hope you enjoyed yesterday's mild and cool conditions. Another pleasant day is forecasted today, despite a wind advisory with south-southwest winds gusting up to 35 mph. Morning temperatures will range from the upper 30s to low 40s, with plenty of sunshine and afternoon highs reaching the low 70s. Similar conditions are expected tomorrow, with slightly reduced wind gusts of up to 20 mph. Morning lows will dip into the 50s, while afternoon highs will warm to near 80 degrees.
A weak cold front will move into the area on Thursday, cooling temperatures to the mid-70s under plenty of sunshine. This forecast will repeat on Friday, with winds gradually returning from the south.
Temperatures will warm up to near 80 degrees over the weekend, with south winds picking up at 15 to 25 mph. Isolated showers may develop late Saturday night north of the Dallas-Fort Worth area, but most areas will remain dry. This forecast will continue into Monday.
Looking ahead, some model trends suggest a significant pattern change may unfold by the middle to end of next week, potentially leading to increased shower and thunderstorm activity and cooler temperatures. Please note that this is outside the 7-day forecast period, and I will continue to monitor these trends. As March, April, and May approach, the threat of severe weather will increase. I will provide updates on this potential pattern change as more information becomes available.
Have a great day, and enjoy the weather when you can, it's the only weather you've got!
