Parts of North Texas saw a few showers overnight, but otherwise sunshine returns Wednesday with afternoon highs near 90 degrees.
The low pressure over North Texas will be replaced with an upper-level high starting Thursday through Father's Day weekend. This will keep the rain at bay and cause temperatures to warm to slightly above-average readings. Afternoon highs will reach the mid-90s Thursday through Father's Day, with morning lows in the 70s. The humidity won't be too bad during the afternoon hours.
The next weather change is over Florida. This area of disturbed weather will cruise westbound through the Gulf of Mexico over the next several days. By early next week, widespread rain will move into the Texas coast. This will help increase humidity across North Texas. How far north this moisture travels is still yet to be determined. Afternoon highs Monday and Tuesday will reach the low 90s. Heat index values will be near 100.
