Weather changes coming this week. Grab your umbrella

North Texas 7-day forecast for Monday August 25, 2025
North Texas 7-day forecast for Monday August 25, 2025
National Weather Service

We are entering the final week of August, and two cold fronts bring chances off and on rain through the upcoming holiday weekend.

Good morning, and welcome to another work and school week. As stated, we anticipate weather changes this week. Currently, the radar is quiet, and temperatures are in the 70s. Partly cloudy conditions are expected today, with afternoon highs reaching the mid to upper 90s.

Storms will approach late tonight and early tomorrow morning from the northwest, primarily affecting Oklahoma. However, an outflow boundary may cause some rain, particularly along and north of Highway 380 during Tuesday's morning commute. A front will move close to Interstate 20 tomorrow, producing scattered showers and storms. Approximately 60% of the area will remain dry. Afternoon highs will range from the 80s under cloudy conditions to the 90s in sunny areas south of town and the 70s during rainfall. This front will lift back to the north on Wednesday.

Partly cloudy conditions will prevail on Wednesday and Thursday, with highs returning to the low to mid-90s. While most areas will stay dry, a few showers and storms are possible during peak heating hours.

Another front will move into the area by late Thursday and Friday, potentially migrating farther south of DFW and providing cooler temperatures for the holiday weekend. Afternoon highs will only be near 90 degrees, with temperatures in the 70s during rainfall. Scattered showers and storms are also in the forecast. The forecast will be refined with location-specific details, precipitation totals, and temperature trends as the week progresses. Severity remains low, but a heavy rainfall threat may develop, especially south of DFW. Stay tuned for updates.

Have a great day today and enjoy the weather when you can, it's the only weather you've got.
