Weather whiplash: Hot, cold front, then back to 80s
Another warm day today, followed by a brief, strong cold front tomorrow with a few light rain showers. Then, we heat right back up from Sunday through Wednesday of next week.
Good morning and happy almost Friday! We're waking up to cloudy skies and temperatures in the mid to upper 60s. That's a good 15 plus degrees above average for this time of year. We'll stay above average today; afternoon highs will warm to near 90°. 91° is the record. It will be a windy day with south winds gusting to 30 mph. Be sure to check your allergy meds!
Our next weather change arrives tomorrow by noon as a brief strong cold front blows through the area. I think many of you will manage to get up close to 80° before clouds increase and the wind shifts to the north after lunchtime. Wind gusts up to 40 mph are possible. Temperatures will fall through the 60s during the day with some light rain showers dotting the area. These rain showers will continue through early to late evening before ending by midnight.
You wake up Saturday morning to temperatures in the low 50s with considerable cloudiness. A slow decrease in clouds Saturday with afternoon highs in the low to mid 60s. North winds will blow from 10 to 20 mph.
A beautiful Sunday morning is shaping up with ample sunshine. Low temperatures will fall to near 50°. Plenty of sunshine on Sunday with highs near 80°.
A warm-up will continue through the middle of next week. Monday will have lows in the upper 50s with daytime highs in the middle 80s. More of the same on Tuesday. Lows will be in the low 60s with highs in the middle 80s. No changes on Wednesday, with low temperatures in the 60s and afternoon highs in the mid to upper 80s. It will be very windy as well with south winds at 15 to 25 mph through the middle of next week.
By early April, we may start to see showers and storms back into the area. It is still too early to tell the exact location and severity, but this needs to be monitored.
Have a terrific day today and enjoy the weather when you can, it's the only weather you've got!
