Welcome to the first day of October! Unfortunately, temperatures are going to remain well above average for this time of the year at least through the 10th of the month and very little rain chances until late Tuesday of next week.

Happy Wednesday ladies and gentlemen! I hope your week's going swell! Pork chops, and applesauce.. not sure why I just had a Brady Bunch flashback, but it is what it is. No jackets necessary for a while and no umbrellas either, as a bubble of high pressure in the upper levels of the atmosphere will grip our weather through early next week. Morning lows will be in the 60s with afternoon highs at or slightly above 90°. Average high temperature right now is 84°, it will dip to 72° by the end of the month. And eventually, I promise, we'll see a decent cold front blow through the area. Unfortunately, that won't happen until not this weekend, but next weekend.

I talked about this the other day, but last October in 2024 was seasonally warm. With 8 days of temperatures at or slightly above 90°, we ended the month 8° above average, and only received a little less than a quarter of an inch of rain and the second rainiest month of the year. I hope this October won't mimic last October.

State Fair goers will enjoy beautiful weather through the weekend, great news for you and great news for all of the vendors trying to make a dime. Make sure you wear light colored loose fitted clothing, sunscreen and a hat if you'll be heading out to the State Fair of Texas through the weekend. High school football will be perfect but a little warm, and any tailgating you might be doing for football this weekend will be okay!

That's all I've got on this early Wednesday morning. I hope you have a splendid day and remember to please enjoy the weather when you can, it's the only weather you've got!
