A taste of spring continues across north Texas this morning. Temperatures are a good 20゚ above average this morning! Readings are mainly in the mid to upper 60s. It's also very windy again. We'll get gusts the 30mph from the suth all day long. If we're lucky, we'll ll see some peeks of sunshine today, as temperatures warm into the upper 70s again. That's a good 12゚ above average for this time of the year.
There's also a few scattered showers across parts of Collin and Grayson Counties this morning...stretching into the Arklatex. These are moving north away from the Dallas Fort Worth area. I can't rule out more isolated showers through the morning anywhere across north Texas.
Rinse and repeat for tomorrow and Saturday as daytime highs shoot up into the mid to upper 70s! I can't rule out a few more scattered showers.
By Saturday afternoon, the dry line will surge out of west Texas and a line of showers and thunderstorms will form and race east through north Texas during the late aft. and evening. A few of these storms may become severe, with small hail and wind being the threats.
Logan and I may head out west to intercept these storms. If anything does go severe, I will immediately jump on KRLD with updates Saturday evening. As of now, I'm not concerned about a tornado threat. This will be a fast moving line with some residual showers through the early morning hours before skies clear by daybreak Sunday morning. Also, we all lose an hour of sleep Saturday night and Daylight Saving Time begins at 2am Sunday morning,
The air won't be that cool behind the dry line and weak cool front, but the air will dry out significantly. Look for 3 terrific days with temperatures near 70゚ on Sunday and Monday, mid 70s on Tuesday.
There's a slight chance of showers and storms Tuesday night and early Wednesday as another cold front moves through the area. Look for windy and cooler temperatures to move into the area on Wednesday with highs in the mid 60s, but that's average for this time of the year.
