This morning Bean introduced us to Tanvi Barman, a senior in high school. She is 17 years old and every weekend she goes to homeless shelters and throws birthday parties for kids. As a child, she would go with her parents to volunteer at homeless shelters. Barman got the idea because she noticed that the kids in these shelters didn’t celebrate birthdays as she did. She now has help from an organization, No Birthday Left Behind, as well a face painter and a puppeteer who both volunteer, while pizzas and custom made cakes are donated. She has now put together 45 birthday parties. The children in the shelters have a hard time finding joy in their situation, but she is able to provide some joy for these children because every child is worth it. This was Bean’s GREAT NEWS!!!
