This month the KROQ Local Commute presented by Mercedes Benz focuses on Southern California based alternative rock band Weathers. Kat Corbett caught up with Weathers frontman Cameron Boyer to talk about new music, mental health issues and his side gig as a film director.
Since officially forming Weathers in October 2015, the band has garnered more than sixty million streams on their 2016 single “Happy Pills,” which was one of the most added songs on alternative radio that year. In 2018 Weathers released their first album “Kids in the Night” and toured constantly supporting bands such as Cage the Elephant, Jimmy Eat World, Dreamers, Palaye Royale, Badflower, Echosmith and Catfish & The Bottlemen, and playing festivals like Lollapalooza and Firefly. They are currently preparing for their first national headline tour. Not bad for some guys who met at a battle of the bands in Manhattan Beach.
