It's never easy to deliver bad news, but Yeah Yeah Yeahs vocalist Karen O made the difficult call to the Klein. Ally. Show. this morning to inform us that the band will be unable to perform at KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas this Saturday at the Kia Forum. Guitarist Nick Zinner unfortunately has been dealing with pneumonia for the past month and his health hasn't improved like the band had hoped.

"It's been kind of up and down," says Karen O. "We were really hoping that he was gonna be okay for Acoustic Christmas this weekend, but he's just not there yet. He needs a little more time and hopefully he's going to turn that corner soon. So sadly we will not be a part of the festivities this Saturday."

"We really wish we coudl rock out for you guys, this is going to be our last celebratory show of the year. We've been so psyched to have the support of KROQ and our LA fans, it's been an incredible high for us. We hope we can make it up to you in the new year, you know, because we want to keep the high going," she continues.

Despite Klein and Ally offering up their phone screener Johnny as a replacement guitarist, the band understandably doesn't feel right performing without Zinner - one of the founder members of the New York group alongside Karen O and drummer Brian Chase. "We wanted to tell it to you from our hearts and also express that we really hope to see you in the new year and be able to do a makeover."

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs are still set to perform on Saturday Night Live! next weekend.
