1 killed after car crashes into Mission Hills back yard

One person was killed after a vehicle drove off a freeway near Mission Hills and into the back yard of a residence, authorities said Tuesday.

The crash was reported at 11:04 p.m. Monday and California Highway Patrol officers were called to 10731 N. Burnet Ave. where they found the driver had been ejected in the crash, CHP Officer Sean Lough told City News Service.

During their investigation, CHP officers learned the vehicle drove off the freeway near the San Diego (405) Freeway and the Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway.

It was unknown of the victim died at the scene or at a hospital.

The CHP is investigating the cause of the crash.
