3 injured in South L.A. shooting

Two men were in a shootout that wounded one of them and a bystander in the Broadway-Manchester area of Los Angeles.

The shooting was reported at 10:30 p.m. Sunday at Main Street and Imperial Highway, according to a desk officer at the Los Angeles Police Department's Operations Center.

An 18-year-old man and another male were walking in the area and started shooting at each other, the officer said.

The 18-year-old man was wounded.

A 19-year-old man was caught in the crossfire, the officer said.

The 18- and 19-year-old men were taken by ambulance to hospitals where their vital signs were stable, he said.

The other shooter fled the scene.
