39-year-old woman with multiple ailments reported missing in Norwalk

Authorities sought the public's help Thursday to find a 39-year-old woman with diabetes and an unspecified mental health disorder and was last seen in Norwalk.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Sophia Lorraine Garcia, who requires medication, was last seen around 9:30 a.m. Friday in the 12100 block of Shy Street.

Deputies described Garcia as a 5-foot Hispanic woman weighing 170 pounds with straight brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black-and-red Led Zeppelin T-shirt with gray sweatpants and blue shoes.

According to the sheriff's department, Garcia's family is concerned for her well-being due to her medical conditions requiring medication and is seeking the public's help to find her.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Garcia was urged to contact the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau Missing Persons Detail at 323-890- 5500. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 800- 222-8477.
