LOS ANGELES (KNX) — Former Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger honored the holiday spirit this week, as he donated $250,000 to help create a tiny home village for homeless veterans in Los Angeles. Schwarzenegger toured the village Thursday, saying “This is what Christmas is all about.”
“This is what Christmas is all about,” Schwarzenegger tweeted. “All of you have the power to do something for someone else this holiday season. It doesn’t have to be big. Just give a few minutes of your time to help someone else.”
The former governor’s donation culminated in 25 homes being built and installed at a tiny home village installed on the V.A. campus in West L.A. according to Fox 11.
“Today, I celebrated Christmas early,” Schwarzenegger tweeted Thursday, explaining that he genuinely enjoyed his time welcoming the heroes into their new homes.
California’s 38th Governor continued a series of tweets thanking Village For Vets for arranging the homes, the Secretary of Veterans Affairs, American Vet Headquarters “and everyone who talked with us and worked with us and made this possible.”
“We proved that when we all work together, we can solve any problem,” he added. With Rob Reynolds of AMVets agreeing.
“They have electricity, they have heating and air conditioning,” Reynolds said in an interview with Fox. “Helps bring a little bit of pride back."
